gelato, gelato, and more gelato:)

Olá!!
You can probably guess by the title of my email that we ate even more gelato this week. If I gain weight on my mission, I definitely give all the credit to European gelato bc it's a WEAKNESS I never knew I had. Its absolute heaven!
Lots happened this week but to keep this email relatively short, I'll just give a few details...
We started teaching two women named Palmira. They're just two best friends who have the same name which makes it kinda hard for us to figure out. They're super awesome and they love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I got to meet lots of the members of our ward. Irmáo Miguel, a man in our ward loves the missionaries so every time a new missionary comes in he has lots of members and missionaries over for dinner to have panquecas com quejo (pancakes with laughing cow cream cheese). At first I was like, wow cheese and pancakes... what a mixture. But they're actually so good! Its tradition for the new missionary to cut the cow picture off the cream cheese wrapper and tape it to the back of our tag (see the picture below).
We met lots of other members who are amazing. They love to take care of the missionaries and help with the work, such a blessing in our lives.

Never underestimate the power of a smile or a friendly face. Honestly, just a smile can turn someone's day completely around. I know we've all heard it before but it is so so so true. And something I learn every day from the mission is how every single person deserves that same love. It doesn't matter who they are, just be kind. That's what Christ does. (1 John 4:7-12)

I love this work. I love Viseu. I love my trainer. I love Portugal. And I love the Gospel. This really is God's work.

I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Go make someone's day today!

Eu amo vocês
Sister Tay Cannon
